As we approach two full years of the COVID-19 pandemic, we now know it spreads primarily through airborne transmission. The virus rides inside tiny microscopic droplets or aerosol ejected from our mouths when we speak, shout, sing, cough, or sneeze. It then floats within the air, where it can be inhaled by and transmitted.

This inspired researchers in India to explore how we can better understand and engineer airflow to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19. To do this, they used their knowledge of airflow around aircraft and engines to tailor the airflow within indoor spaces.

In Physics of Fluids, they report computer simulations of airflow within a public washroom showing infectious aerosols in can linger up to 10 times longer than the rest of the room. These dead zones of trapped air are frequently found in corners of a room or around furniture.

NASA /ESA Hubble Space Telescope Picture of the Week features the galaxy NGC 6,984 an elegant spiral galaxy in the constellation Indus roughly 200 million light-years away from Earth. The galaxy is a familiar sight for Hubble, having already been captured in 2013. The sweeping spiral arms are threaded through with a delicate tracery of dark lanes of gas and dust, and studded with bright stars and luminous star-forming regions.

These new observations were made following an extremely rare astronomical event — a double supernova in NGC 6984. Supernovae are unimaginably violent explosions on a truly vast scale, precipitated by the deaths of massive stars. These events are powerful but rare and fleeting — a single supernova can outshine its host galaxy for a brief time. The discovery of two supernovae at virtually the same time and location (in astronomical terms) prompted speculation from astronomers that the two supernovae may somehow be physically linked. Using optical and ultraviolet observations from Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 astronomers sought to get a better look at the site of the two supernovae, hopefully allowing them to discover if the two supernova explosions were indeed linked. Their findings could give astronomers important clues into the lives of binary stars.

As well as helping to unravel an astronomical mystery, these new observations added more data to the 2013 observations, and allowed this striking new image to be created. The observations — each of which covers only a narrow range of wavelengths — add new details and a greater range of colors to the image.

Coacervate droplets (CDs) are a model for protocells formed by liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS), but protocell models able to proliferate remain undeveloped. Here, the authors report a proliferating peptide-based CD using synthesised amino acid thioesters as monomers, which could concentrate RNA and lipids, enabling RNA to protect the droplet from dissolution by lipids.

Good day to you all.

What about living in a time when you can eat meat that does not mean an animal was killed, or even mildly hurt?

What about an era with dairy with no animals involved, aside from some DNA donation in return for a grassy field, protection and regular meals and shelter when needed…?

Sound like science fiction?

A shift to digital life?

EVE Online is a massively multiplayer online game that is probably best known for articles about massive space battles with tens of thousands of players, or stories about in-game con men screwing over their allies after years of friendship. BUT! EVE online is interesting for a bigger reason though that is often overlooked, and that is its amazingly realistic economy. In this video, we explore one of the player nation-states and see how crazy realistic the economy of a video game about spaceships can be.

Advances in Artificial Intelligence, neuroscience and robotics have gotten us to a point where people might want to replace their biological limbs with robotic limbs due to there being more and more advantages with every passing day. Things like improved movement, intelligent controlling systems with the help of machine learning AI can help you control these limbs better than you could control your regular old arms, legs and hands.

But how long until we can finally live out our transhuman fantasies and become cyborgs? All this, and a bunch of new and futuristic scientific discoveries in this one review showcasing the most advanced AI Controlled Prosthetics.

Every day is a day closer to the Technological Singularity. Experience Robots learning to walk & think, humans flying to Mars and us finally merging with technology itself. And as all of that happens, we at AI News cover the absolute cutting edge best technology inventions of Humanity.

A technique called ‘physical reservoir computing’ enabled it to make sense of the brain waves and dodge barriers. It’s the first time intelligence has ever been “taught” to a robot.

The world’s first ever ‘thinking’ robot has just been created.

Lab Grown Meat is finally here, and you’re able to buy it yourself to finally give it a try. The US Startup “Eat Just” released their cultured chicken nuggets to select store shelves in 2021 for everyone to try out.
Real Lab Grown Meat is finally here. Although currently, in a rather expensive fashion. Many food companies are now trying to give producing clean meats a try on their own.

Josh Tetrick new cultured meat company called Eat Just is the first company to sell cultured meats. Unlike Beyond Meats or Impossible Foods plant-based foods, their foods are actually made from animal cells and thus taste exactly the same as regular meat. But of course without the ethical and environmental concerns.

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly improving and has recently gotten to a point where it can outperform humans in several highly competetive job markets including the media. OpenAI and Intel are working on the most advanced AI Algorithms that are actually starting to understand the world similar to the way we experience it. They call these models: OpenAI CLIP, Codex, GPT 4 and other things which are all good at certain things. Now they’re trying to combine them to improve their generality and maybe create a real and working Artificial General Intelligence for our future. Whether AI Supremacy will happen before the singularity is unclear, but one thing is for sure: AI and Machine Learning will take over many jobs in the very near future.
